Scope
This policy describes information processed by the deepSound website and desktop companion, including account creation, Music integration, AI research, voice, and sharing. Features and permissions may differ across platforms.
Account information
Our authentication service handles account registration and sign-in. Email registration uses your name, email address, and password. Google sign-in provides account information such as your name, email address, and profile identifier. Do not send passwords through support messages. Authentication services process credentials and session information to sign you in and secure your account.
Music and research information
The desktop app reads track metadata and artwork and communicates with Music for playback controls. AI research sends relevant song details, your question, and conversation context to deepSound services and AI or search providers. Automatic Song Story can send song details when a track changes while AI generation is on. This workflow uses metadata and public research; it does not upload protected Apple Music audio streams for analysis.
Voice and microphone
On supported Macs, wake detection uses on-device speech recognition while AI generation and voice listening are enabled. Idle wake listening does not start an online AI voice session. Once activated, microphone audio, transcripts, song details, and relevant conversation context are processed by online voice services. Voice responses can appear in the conversation. Turn off voice listening or AI generation to stop listening; system microphone and Speech permissions can also be revoked.
Local storage
deepSound stores preferences, recent track references, and a limited Song Story cache on your device. Website authentication may store session information in browser storage. Local storage can remain after the app closes. Clearing browser data or app data can remove locally saved preferences and content and may sign you out.
Service providers and external content
We use service providers for account authentication, AI research and live voice, and website and API hosting. Research and media features may contact Apple catalog services, public music sources, and YouTube. Loading external images or playing videos may disclose your IP address and request details to those providers. These providers process information needed to deliver the features you use.
Sharing and support
Using the share or copy controls can include response text, album artwork, and a Music link. Content is sent to the destination you select and is then subject to that service’s practices. Support requests include the information you submit. Avoid including sensitive information in research prompts or support messages.
Billing
When you purchase credits in deepSound Settings, Stripe handles your payment details. We use account and transaction information to apply credits, maintain purchase records, and respond to billing questions. deepSound does not receive your full payment card details.
Purpose, security, and retention
Information is processed to authenticate accounts, provide requested features, answer music questions, respond to support requests, and operate and secure the service. Hosting and providers may process technical request information such as IP addresses, errors, and usage records. Account data remains with the authentication provider until removed; local data remains until cleared or replaced. Provider retention varies by service and configuration. We do not promise zero retention for online research or voice requests.
Your choices and requests
You control Music permissions, AI generation, voice listening, and what you share. Turning AI generation off disables new research and questions and stops active voice listening; previously generated content can remain visible. Contact us through support to request access, correction, or deletion of account information. Some records may need to be retained for security or legal reasons. Deleting local app data alone does not delete your deepSound account.
